As our community begins a period of multiple E-Learning Days, we want to provide information to help make your experience as easy as possible.
Many of you asked whether the district will continue to use E-Learning following the governor's decision to provide schools with 20 waiver days to mitigate lost instructional time. We have elected to use E-Learning until spring break and hold the 20 waiver days in the event the situation has not improved after the break. At this time, this situation is still evolving. Our goal is to continue the education process and keep students involved and engaged in learning.
E-Learning assignments will be posted by your student’s teacher by 8 a.m. each instructional day. As we go through this process, our focus is on teacher-to-student interaction. We know how important the teacher is to the learning process. Our teachers have been communicating and collaborating constantly to create engaging and impactful E-Learning lessons. Our district is providing additional training to our teachers to utilize video to make the E-Learning lessons more personal and connected.
Teacher office hours will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. each instructional day. Teachers are immediately available via email during these time periods. Emails sent after 7:30 p.m. may not receive a response until the next day. Look for your teacher's contact information in the staff directory.
Paper materials are available for any families who wish to request them. Parents should call their school building and speak to their principal. Our staff will compile paper learning resources for parents to pick up at the CSCSHC Administration Office at 4711 S. Co Rd. 500W in New Palestine. Parents will be contacted when materials are ready for students.
All E-Learning assignments over the next six instructional days will be due on Tuesday, April 7, 2020.
